Move It!

Cambodia

Wow, we've been on the MOVE. As I mentioned last time the recent Cambodia trip was powerful and productive! …Then … KEEP MOVIN!

San Francisco Bay Area - GrandsonTown

RIGHT after the incredible whirlwind ministry trip in Cambodia, I was picked up at the curb to drive 6 hours to the beautiful San Francisco Bay area for my twin grandsons’ sixth birthday weekend. My grandsons are true joy enhancers and make my heart throb. I was captain jetlag, but it was a blast and a blessing.

Ventura, California - A Proposal

The evening before we flew out to Greece, Andrea and I snuck up to a hilltop overlooking the coast in Ventura to be with our daughter, Jessi, just moments after her romantic wedding proposal. We’re over the moon excited about the future for her and her wonderful guy, Dave Kumungai.

Greece & Turkey

The very next morning (in the spirit of MOVE IT), Andrea and I boarded a plane for Greece and Turkey, where we traveled cross-country as I taught on a 12-day Bible study tour. The excursion was a powerful deep dive into the history and spread of the New Testament church and the mission of Jesus. Andrea and I had a wonderful time as a couple, and it was so fun to have her with me on this trip!

NOTE : I was invited and hired to attend this tour as a paid Bible-teacher, no Global Training Network support monies were used for the trip.

Come with Me to Greece & Turkey!?!

I'm prayerfully looking into another trip to teach in Greece and Turkey next spring, 2025. You're invited!

If you've ever wanted to visit places like Corinth, Ephesus, Athens, Philippi, Berea, and Thessalonica - the places in the Book of Acts - here's your chance. It's an incredible opportunity to make the Bible come alive and experience Greek culture and the wonderful FOOD!  The trip will also include a few days of cruising the Greek Isles, such as Crete and Santorini. If you are interested in hearing more about this trip, text me, email me, or shoot me a note one way or another on Facebook. I'll announce the dates, final destinations lineup, and costs as the details come into focus.

Burundi, Africa

Keeping on the “move it, move it” machine, I fly back to Burundi, East Africa, next week. This will be the third of four training sessions we're conducting for the pastors and leaders there. The students have been really absorbing and growing! This trip will allow me to not only continue to teach our 50 students, but I'll also be spending a couple of evenings consulting with the elders and deacons at the high-impact church that we're affiliated with in the city.  I'll also be preaching at Christian Life Ministries Church on Sunday, May 16th, just hours after arrival (gotta keep it movin’)!

Please be praying specifically for this trip! We are seeking the next group of indigenous leaders who can co-teach with us as we start training more groups in the country. We're seeking God's leading for who the right people are. Multiplication of local leaders who can and will pass on Bible training to their country is a key goal!

Would you also pray specifically for some of our pastors/students from Rumunge, in the south of the country? The guys have been faithfully attending our training, but massive floods have wiped out the roads, leaving many people homeless. It's been underreported in the US news, but Lake Tanganyika took in so much rainwater that the lake flowed out into the city in catastrophic proportions.

Pray also for Christian Life Ministries as they seek to aid the poorest of the poor; some people they serve have lost everything. They also work with hundreds of Muslim ladies in microenterprises; many of these families were affected by the flooding.

Pray also for all things related to travel and being on the move for myself, Steve Larson, and Doug Posey, as we serve these beautiful, beloved leaders.

On the road again - yet another prayer request: Soon after I return from Africa, my Buddy Allen and I depart on our annual Harley "ride to nowhere" on June 17. We’ll get home around the 23rd???(ish?). Please lift us in intercession for safe travels in the wind along the backroads of the Old West.
