MissionFuel: Filling Up for East Africa Lift-Off!

I'll climb into (as opposed to onto) an airplane this Thursday morning and fly out to Burundi, East Africa. I’m hoping they fuel the plane up fully before we get up in the air; it’s the same with PRAYER; will you fuel this mission up now and throughout? No fuel = no lift-off.
The trip dates will be May 18 – June 3, so about 2.5 weeks.
I'll be in Burundi training 50 pastors for a week then I fly north to Rwanda to train 20 pastors there during the second week. I want to invite you also to pray for my friends and teammates, Doug Posey and Steve Larson, who will be training with me in Burundi. Please also PRAY for peace and safety here at home and that things go smoothly around the house for Andrea in my absence. Spiritual warfare is real, and Hell seems to find opportunity when I leave to serve, so pray.
PRAY for extra stamina on this trip. Unfortunately, one of my flights was canceled, which means there won't be any days off; we’ll have glorious, but lengthy ministry days and nights and very few hours off in the evenings to recharge for the two and a half weeks I’m away. I’ll need a full tank of spiritual fuel, so PRAY. Keep health in your PRAYERS too; join me in PRAYING that my chronic unresolved GI tract issues take a vacation for this journey.
Fuel Us Up - Bujumbura, BURUNDI!
We're excited to be going to Burundi as I head up this new team and launch a new training ministry that we expect to go on for two years + taking about 50 needy pastors through 12 courses of pastoral training. Since formal ministry training isn’t readily available theological, biblical, and ministry knowledge and skills are hugely needed.
Imagine what a blessing increased biblical skills will make! PRAY for power and Kingdom impact as we equip these wonderful pastors in the poorest country (based on GDP) on this entire planet
Fuel Us Up - Gatsibo, RWANDA!
When I land Rwanda, we’ll drive four hours north to where I’ll teach a group of 20 pastors who minister to many of the 13,000 Congolese people who live in the Nyabiheke refugee camp. These people live in terrible poverty, uncertainty, loss, and pain. The message of hope the pastors bring is an emotional and spiritual lifeline. African pastors often lack formal training in Bible, theology, or ministry skills. This is an incredible opportunity to love, equip, and encourage these spiritual heroes.
Incredible impact will result! PRAY that the pastors not only understand the material but commit to passing it on to other local pastors. PRAY for their strength, joy, and encouragement.
