Dateline: Cambodia
As you read these words, I'm in beautiful Cambodia, training pastors and key church leaders. That means I’m back in the cramped, humid, brown vinyl rear seat on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.
The team and I will travel to five provinces, training eight separate ministry groups over the next three+ weeks. These remarkable leaders are making a difference in a country where over 93% are Buddhist, many are animists, some are Muslim, some are atheists…only around 2% follow Jesus (right now).
These joy-filled local believers have a vast vision, a powerful passion for the lost, and a plan to see 10% of Cambodians following Jesus in the next ten years! They are truly inspiring, and I am so grateful to help make that a reality by equipping them with the vital ministry tools they need to accomplish the task!

An Important Message as 2024 Moves into the Rearview Mirror
Since we are coming to the close of 2024, I ask you to prayerfully consider giving a special Year-End gift. Like many ministries, a significant percentage of our annual ministry funding arrives through tax-advantaged, year-end gifts; these gifts are key to our work.
In the coming year, I have a strategy to start new training programs in new countries, in new regions, and to train more new students in our existing regions of influence. We will also begin coaching some of our exceptional Burundian GTN graduates to co-teach our classes with along with us in Bujumbura in March! This is the beginning of the process of passing the baton to the nationals, multiplying the impact of the work, and making it genuinely African in scope!
My Year-End goal is to raise an additional $35,000 in special year-end gifts by December 31st to fully fund and fuel the ministry calendared for 2025.
Why?
As you may know, over 80% of the pastors in the world have ZERO minutes of Bible and ministerial education. Yep, nada, zip, zilch… That means there is currently only ONE trained pastor for every 140,000 people in the Majority World… but the church is exploding in growth there! Trained pastors are one of the most significant global Christian needs today!
That’s an epic challenge and a whopping problem that NEEDS solving!
GTN’s ministry is changing those numbers by effectively training pastors who can least access or afford the needed ministry skills and Bible knowledge. 160 outstanding GTN staff are currently traveling to and training pastors and key church leaders in 87 Majority World countries. Challenge accepted!
What’s Been Happening?
In the last 9 months, in my personal ministry alone, over two hundred pastors and church leaders have been mentored, educated, equipped, challenged, and grown in their impact. Note: I train relationally and interactively in smaller groups because less is MORE in education and mentoring (think class size with your kids or grandkids). I will teach 70-100 more Cambodian students before the year’s end.
This year, I had 43 top-notch Burundian students graduate from our two-year ministry training program; in addition, 22 Rwandan pastors I taught graduated from our three-year ministry training program in the green hills above Kigali! Many of these pastors and leaders are taking the training we've given them and are currently teaching and equipping other ministers in their churches and communities. Jesus, for the WIN!
Fuel 2025?
2025 will be a year of ministry expansion and impact. Andrea and I are praying that God will provide all the needed resources to make this Vision a reality.
